Catch the DMV-based band live at the DITR fall music festival on Oct 9! The Washington DC region has one of the best music scenes in the country Whether you prefer jazz, go-go, hardcore punk, hip-hop, dance or anything in between, you can go out and hear a new local band in a different genre -- and in a different venue! -- every night of the week if you're so inclined. Back in our music journo-wannbe days with DC Music Download, we got to meet a lot of amazing local established bands and rising stars. One of our favorites continues to be RDGLDGRN who will be headlining the Down in the Reeds all-day music festival on Oct 9 at the Parks at Walter Reed. RDGLDGRN have worked with music legends Pharrell Williams and Dave Grohl, liken themselves to a hip hop-centric version of Daft Punk, and throw one hell of a KARNIVAL-like show. Besides they're music, we love that these guys are hometown-proud and continue to live in the area and perform locally, despite having the kind of national profile that would have caused many others to leave for so-called greener pastures. For these DMV boys, there's nothing like home, jamming with friends and a Go Go beat. We're re-sharing an interview we did with them a few years ago so that you can get to get them before checking them out for yourself at DITR! This interview with RDGLDGRN sounds awesome! I've been a fan since their debut album, especially after hearing "I Love Lamp" on YouTube. It's crazy to think they've even collaborated with Dave Grohl! I'm curious to hear what they were like to interview and what they shared about headlining Down in the Reeds Festival. Can't wait to read the interview! pen_spark tune share more_vert
