We're in that seasonal sweet spot where it's nice enough to spend time outside and anticipate the coming wintertime activities--it's the best of both worlds!

November is stuffed with indoor and outdoor things to do for adults and kiddos, from dinosaurs roaring into RFK Stadium to Insta-worthy apres ski events, Black-owned restaurant week, and a Christmas bar popping up in Adams Morgan, and more! We've done the planning for you and curated the best-of-the-best events that will keep you busy throughout the entire month.

  1. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. Now's the time to plan ahead for pickup or delivery from one of the DMV's best restaurants whether you'll be feeding one or a group.
  2. Walk among the dinosaurs with Jurassic Quest at RFK Stadium. Brought to you by the folks at Events DC, this interactive exhibit will allow you to drive among realistic animatronic dinosaurs from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic Periods. Each dino is life-size, so you can compare just how big (or small!) the dinosaurs really were. The entire event is experienced from inside your car to maximize safety. November 6 - 15
  3. Pick up a knife and fork to show your support for Black-owned restaurants, cafés, pop-ups and businesses in the District, Maryland and Virginia during the third annual DMV Black Restaurant Week, November 8 - 15
  4. Enjoy a FREE intimate, live music and view of the sun setting on the REACH campus and the Potomac at Kennedy Center's newly announced Sunset Concert Series. Nov 10, registration required
  5. Discover Conrad hotel's Hidden Terrace and enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience and whimsical cocktails in a semi-private garden nook. Now through November 14
  6. If ever there was a time for a cocktail or three ... DC Cocktail Week returns November 16 with a full lineup of rad virtual events each day ft. local and global cocktail industry players. Through November 22nd you can enjoy food and drink pairings via dine-in, outdoor dining, takeout and curbside pickup, or explore cocktail-kits to-go at select locations. Cheers to that, ya'll!
  7. Experience "The Jookjoynt," a digital space brought to you by Woolly Mammoth + Black in Space where poetry, dance, music and numerous forms of artistic expression rule where you can escape the trials and tribulations of 2020 and enjoy creativity and communal vibes. Nov 17 - 22
  8. Hit the slopes (not really!) for a socially-distanced après ski-themed area called The Lodge at The Yards, with instagram-worthy individual areas  featuring alpine-chic decor, cozy seating and exclusive snacks and drinks.  No skis, boots or lift passes required! Tickets required. Nov 20 - 22
  9. Missing Drink Company’s  Miracle on Seventh Street in Shaw? No need for tears. The popular popup is no more, but DC's Christmas Bar returns this year at ​Adams Morgan's “Miracle at Death Punch Bar. Opens Nov 27
  10. Visit the new Planet Word museum which showcases how language has evolved and can have an incredible impact on lives through interactive galleries and displays. Now open in limited capacity; free, timed-entry pass required.
  11. Motor to see a drive-in movie at Park Up DC. It will be back in time for Thanksgiving.​
  12. If you're like us, you're always stuck with ideas about what to do with Thanksgiving leftovers. Luckily, the US Botanic Garden has you covered with an online cooking demo with suggestions. Nov 26
  13. Make your holiday shopping list and check it twice! The annual Downtown Holiday Market will be going ahead but like many things this year, it will look a bit different. Opens Nov. 20 - Dec. 23
  14. See activism on display at the National Building Museum which is showcasing DC street art created this summer in response to the protests for racial justice in the nation's capital and across the country. Open now thru Nov 30
  15. Honor the tremendous service and sacrifice made by Native veterans and their families at the virtual opening of the National Native American Veterans Memorial, hosted by The National Museum of the American Indian (which recently reopened its doors) on Veterans Day (Nov 11) . Once the memorial is unveiled, you’ll be able to visit the intimate space in person, 24/7.
  16. Hop to it and check out the Hoptimist Holiday Market presented virtually by Heurich House X DC Brau, featuring hundreds of creations from  local craft makers based in Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland, including jewelers, ceramicists, bakers, makers of housewares, and more. Opens Nov 27
  17. Take a trip into the wild, blue yonder as ARTECHOUSE closes out 2020 by focusing on Pantone’s Color of the Year: Classic Blue. Crystalline dives into blue’s connection with earth, crystals and adventure through a wondrous castle and rooms filled with creative curiosities. Open now thru Jan 3, 2021
  18. Visit the amazing, large-scale installations at Renwick museum's newest exhibit: Forces of Nature: Renwick Invitational 2020 features artists Lauren Fensterstock, Timothy Horn, Debora Moore, and Rowland Ricketts. Open now thru June 27, 2021; no timed-entry pass required.
  19. Take the kids on an animal safari to find the alphabet animals roaming around Capitol Hill.
  20. Don't miss "Paper Routes," the sixth installment in the ‘Women to Watch’ series at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The exhibit showcases the ability of artists to use paper to create breathtaking installations, large and small. Open now thru Jan 18, 2021
  21. Make plans to visit the reopened Phillips Collection and check out the "With Riffs and Relations" exhibit. The fascinating exhibit examines the relationship between the work of 20th and 21st century African American artists and the European modernists of the early 20th century. The exhibit features pieces by Romare Bearden, Renee Cox, Norman Lewis, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Carrie Mae Weems and many others. Open now thru Jan 3, 2021
  22. Dine out al fresco before it gets too .cold at streeteries across DC. Varies
  23. Discover hidden gems in DC on a custom bike ride with the DC Cycling Concierge. It's the perfect time of year to explore the city!
  24. Catch up on the binge-worthy show "Deaf U" on Netflix about student life at DC's Gallaudet University, the world's preeminent institution for the deaf and hard-of-hearing population.
  25. Treat yourself to a delectable afternoon tea at the Willard Hotel's famous Peacock Alley or opt for a contemporary spin at Brothers and Sisters restaurant at LINE DC hotel.​
  26. It's officially cider season! Sample apple-y brews at DC's three working cideries.
  27. Party like it's 1921 at the Brewmaster's castle in Dupont Circle. Enjoy happy hour with local brews in the Heurich House Castle Garden. Wednesdays+ Thursdays, 5 - 8pm
  28. Go off-the-beaten path and visit the President Woodrow Wilson House (a real hidden gem!) to see Suffrage Outside' , a free outdoor exhibit that uses towering images to tell the story of women's suffrage struggle. Open now through Nov. 30​
